William Pierce (he/him) is the author of the as-yet-unpublished novel Twenty Sixteen, excerpts of which have appeared in Harvard Review, The Western Humanities Review, and Literary Hub. His short stories have appeared in Granta, Ecotone, American Literary Review, and elsewhere, and his essays in Electric Literature, The Writer’s Chronicle, Solstice, The Continental, and regularly in AGNI, which he coedits with Sven Birkerts. Pierce is also the author of Reality Hunger: On Karl Ove Knausgaard’s My Struggle (Arrowsmith Press, 2016), a monograph first serialized as a three-part essay at The Los Angeles Review of Books. His work has been cited as Notable in The Best American Essays and given Special Mention three times in The Pushcart Prize.
